The Australian off spinner Nathan Lyon has said that getting the wicket of Sachin Tendulkar was like a dream come true for him.

Lyon had dismissed Tendulkar in the first innings of the first test match against India which was played at Chennai. He had got that wicket with a great delivery which turned sharply and went through Tendulkar’s bat and pad to rattle the stumps. Tendulkar was playing at 81 at that time.

However, the overall bowling figures of Lyon in that match was not that impressive and because of that, he was left out of the playing XI in the next match.

But, the two spinners who featured for Australia in the second test match i.e. Xavier Doherty and Glenn Maxwell didn’t perform that well. So, Lyon is expected to be brought back into the XI in the third test match.

When asked if he is disappointed with the way he bowled in the first match, Lyon said, “Yes, a little bit. I should have got a few more wickets. That was a pitch which was tailor-made for the spinners.”

“But, I got some huge wickets in that match including the wicket of Sachin Tendulkar. To go through the defense of a batsman like Sachin Tendulkar is not an easy task. I am proud of the way I got him out.”

“In the second innings, I got the wicket of Virender Sehwag who is also a great player. So, I would not say that I performed awfully in that first test match. I bowled some good deliveries.”

“I have been training hard since the last one week, but, I have not made any technical changes in my bowling.”

When asked if he thinks that he will be included in the XI for the third test match, Lyon said, “I don’t know. It will be the decision of the team management. Let’s see what they decide.”
